Sunny Patel is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) deeply committed to delivering exceptional tax and accounting solutions to business owners and individuals. Based in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, Sunny resides with his wife and their two daughters—a three-year-old and a newborn baby girl welcomed in January 2026—who provide constant inspiration and balance in his life.
A proud alumnus of Drexel University, Sunny earned his Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Economics in 2015, laying the foundation for a successful career in the accounting profession. Demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence, he obtained his CPA license in Pennsylvania in 2017.
Sunny spent nearly a decade at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the world’s leading professional services firms, where he led audit and tax engagements, advised clients on financial reporting, internal controls, and operational processes, and developed strong relationships built on trust, integrity, and practical business insight.
In 2024, Sunny founded Empyrean Financial CPAs, a small firm focused on providing high-quality
tax, accounting, and CFO level advisory services to entrepreneurs and growing businesses. Building
on this entrepreneurial path, Sunny joined Current Accounting in March 2026 as a strategic tax
expert, where he brings his CPA credentials, his Empyrean Financial CPAs team, and broad
experience to help clients navigate complex tax matters as well as focus on long-term business
financial planning and sustainability.
Sunny also comes from a family deeply rooted in the accounting profession, with over 30 years of
experience across multiple family members. This legacy instilled in him an early appreciation for
the values of integrity, client service, and the long-term impact of trusted financial advisors.
Driven by a passion for helping clients succeed, Sunny combines technical expertise, strategic
thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset to guide individuals and businesses toward sustainable
